Help for those that have experienced issues with this product

I experienced several of constant issues with my itouchless trash will a couple of month when purchase. It started acting erraticly thereforeme point|in the future|someday|sooner or later|in some unspecified time in the future} so i assumed the batteries would possibly would like changing. I did that and everything appeared fine. I shut it off that night and once I turned it back on within the morning it failed to work right. 
It'd open normally, however wouldn't shut unless I pushed the shut button. generally it'd keep closed, however alternative times it'd open at random or open right keep a copy as soon as I closed it. 
I went back through and skim all of the reviews on Amazon. I e-mailed the company(itouchless) and referred to as the 800 variety I found on one review and left a message (it was on a Saturday once I called). The funny issue was, before I got a decision back, the trash will began to work once more. 
All I did was push down on the duvet only once when I shutd it with the close button. i do not apprehend if that's what did it, however i have not had a haul since. i used to be a bit nervous that client service at itouchless wasn't about to be useful as a result of several of the reviews stated as such. 
I did not have that very same expertise. I got a phone decision and an e-mail three days when contacting them. this can be what the e-mail said:The sensor may be laid low with moisture,stain or fingerprints. to repair the matter please try: 
-Take out the batteries 
-Use a wet rag to wipe clean the lid, particularly within the sensor space many times. you'll be able to rub it to get rid of any stain on it.
